Medical Assistant – Epilepsy Practice (Bilingual English/Spanish Required)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our specialized Epilepsy Practice. This role involves both clinical and administrative duties, supporting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will be a team player, possess strong organizational skills, and demonstrate excellent communication abilities in both English and Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:

Office Duties:

• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and send faxes.

• Assist clinic nurses with clinical tasks as needed.

• Perform general clerical tasks as needed.

Clinical Duties:

• Assist the provider with all aspects of patient care, including:

  • Taking vital signs and preparing patients for examinations.

  • Entering patient history and other documentation into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

  • Providing patient education on epilepsy management and treatment plans.

  • Assisting with in-office procedures and treatments.

  • Coordinating follow-up care and treatment plans.

• Review prior medical records to obtain past medical history and pre-chart for clinic days.

• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.

• BLS Certification (must be current or obtained within one month of hire).

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).

• Strong proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Word & Excel.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

• Self-motivated and professional demeanor.

• Strong time management and follow-up abilities.

• Experience with lab/phlebotomy preferred
