We are seeking a skilled and reliable Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our busy ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) practice. The ideal candidate brings prior ENT experience, or at minimum, a strong clinical background with the ability to adapt quickly and learn ENT-specific workflows. This role is vital to ensuring smooth daily operations, excellent patient care, and seamless provider support.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Rooming: Take vitals, review patient history, update medication lists, and prepare patients for exams.
Procedure Assistance: Assist with in-office ENT procedures (e.g., nasal endoscopies, cerumen removal, flexible scopes).
Surgical Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule surgeries; communicate with hospitals, surgical centers, and insurance companies.
Clinical Support:
Process medication refills per protocol
Assist with prior authorizations and precertifications
Maintain exam rooms and sterilize equipment
Perform basic lab work and collect specimens
Support providers with documentation and EMR charting
Respond to patient calls and messages regarding clinical issues
Workflow Management: Keep clinical areas organized, stocked, and compliant with safety/cleanliness standards.
Team Contribution: Perform general back-office duties and other clinical tasks as needed to support the team.
Required Qualifications:
Active MA certification or LVN license in the state of Texas
Minimum 4 years of clinical experience in a medical office or outpatient setting.
ENT experience strongly preferred — candidates without ENT experience must demonstrate a strong clinical background with at least 4+ years of medical office experience and the ability to learn ENT procedures and workflows quickly.
Proficiency with EMR systems Next Gen.
Current BLS certification.
